About this listen

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Only a handful of fictional characters are recognized by first name alone. Dean Koontz’s Odd Thomas is one such literary hero, who has come alive in listeners’ imaginations as he explores the greatest mysteries of this world and the next with his inimitable wit, heart, and quiet gallantry. Now Koontz follows Odd as he is drawn onward, to a destiny he cannot imagine. Haunted by dreams of an all-encompassing red tide, Odd is pulled inexorably to the sea, to a small California coastal town where nothing is as it seems.

Disappointed with the story

The first 3 stories which listened to from the library were very engaging.
The character, the consistency of the story, prompted me to go hunting for the remainder of the books.
I purchased the 4th.
I'm happy I did not buy all.
The story is okay if saving the world from spies is your thing.
It's completely different from the previous 3 in the series aside from the main character name.
No ghosts, well 2 that were his usual.
However we entered a cheesy tale.
I'm not a fan of novels which have to do with spies.
I found myself struggling to listen..
His ghost dog disappeared. He had no contact from his home town as previous installments. There was the slight reference to them but nothing else.
No demons, actually nothing to explain the fog. Where did the dog go? Frank disappeared?
Why drag out the girl story.
Hardly a mention of Stormy, the "love" of his life.
The whole story felt it was put together from a pot of words.
It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't ODD.
The performance on the other hand was wonderful as usual.

Still Odd

I felt like it took a long time to get really interesting, the other books have a lot of long winded explainations and etc before it picks up and to me at least this one had actual things happening but nothing to write home about for a while. Once it got moving though WOOOOO!!
