nightlord is one of the best series I have read. A must read for fantasy fans

If you enjoyed the previous books, you'll enjoy this one.

This book flew by until the last few chapters. Suddenly and without warning, immediately after introducing some new treachery and a conflict seems to be coming to a head, Eric is whisked away by a completely different antagonist with a penchant for torture. And, it goes on and on and on for way too long. I began skipping through the last two hours at 3x speed because I knew the book would end on a cliffhanger, it was just a question of whether Eric had freed himself before or after the end arrived.

Speaking of speed, this is still probably the slowest narrator ever. 1.7x is the slowest I can tolerate. I'm usually at 2x or 2.25x. It's brutal.

A Long-winded And Empty Epic

The last 2 novels had a lot of fillers, this one is almost all filler and just the protagonist talking to himself.

I tried skipping and speeding up but there is no real plot to this novel! Returned, using my credit for the next one, Knightfall and hoping it's worth it.

Only up side is Sean Runnette continues to be a great narrator.
