About this listen
A price paid in blood
“The Order of the Centurion is the highest award that can be bestowed upon an individual serving in, or with, the Legion. When such an individual displays exceptional valor in action against an enemy force, and uncommon loyalty and devotion to the Legion and its legionnaires, refusing to abandon post, mission, or brothers, even unto death, the Legion dutifully recognizes such courage with this award.”
Tired of sitting out the war on Psydon in a mobile office lab, Legion Lieutenant Washam agrees to undertake a covert and unsanctioned mission with a band of Republic Recon Marines. Inserted deep behind enemy lines, the strike force uncovers a surprise key to ending a bitter war. Now they must navigate a hostile jungle teeming with murderous alien rebels, pushing themselves to the limits of their abilities, to get this vital intel to Legion Command - if they can survive that long.
The Order of the Centurion is an all-new series of stand-alone military science fiction thrillers set in the Galaxy's Edge universe, ranging from the Savage Wars to the arrival of the Black Fleet. Each book features the legendary heroes of the Legion who forgot nothing in their earning of the Legion's highest honor.

A good story
An entertaining story and performance. I enjoyed it very much, I'm normally not one for science fiction. Its a good story easy to follow, great to zone out to.

Another great galaxy's edge book!
Having read this following galaxy's edge book 4 the main character was very familiar and it answered a lot of questions I had following that book.
To start off the narrator was actually fantastic even though it wasn't the same guy who does the main series to deviation worked out quite well with the characters (most of them at least) and timeline being fairly distant. Overall a great performance.
The story was another action packed, seat of your pants adventure that iv come to love from these authors! The character are developed enough to make me feel almost as though many of them are my friends and family which made the emotional impact as strong as any book.

Another great story and another well written book
Mark Boyett is one of my favorite narrators to listen to , he makes the book really enjoyable. Overall the story while a separate series its in the galaxy of galaxies edge and it sort of gets backstory to the reason as to the way things are in the galaxy. I enjoyed the story and the characters they are all well developed and you get invested in them from the fool of a leader to the gritty marines to the poor bloke who comes to save their butts. Already listening to the next one!!

not fully encompassing
other than the main three, the characters are all very one note. there is no redemption or evolution for them. it has good action, but not enough character nuisance.

Vietnam War story on an alien planet
Great narration. Short, contained novel of a sci-fi military engagement. Vietnam vet story meets Starship Troopers. Good for YA to adult readers.
Not my normal cup of tea, but I know a few people I would recommend it to.

The narrator is bad.
I love this series! I struggled through this book because I'm such a huge fan of the series! The narrator in this book puts me to sleep. Hes so monotone and the diffrence in voice is minimal from character to character. Love the story but it's a shame to hear a bland version of it. Maybe because its speaking mainly from a points point of view but it's not worth the sacrifice.
