About this listen
In Out of Sorts, Sarah Bessey, award-winning blogger and author of Jesus Feminist, helps us grapple with core Christian issues using a mixture of beautiful storytelling and biblical teaching. As she candidly shares her wrestlings with core issues - such as who Jesus is, what place the church has in our lives, how to disagree yet remain within a community, and how to love the Bible for what it is rather than what we want it to be - she teaches us how to walk courageously through our own tough questions. In the process of gently helping us sort things out, Bessey teaches us how to be as comfortable with uncertainty as we are with solid answers. And as we learn to hold questions in one hand and answers in the other, we discover new depths of faith that will remain secure even through the storms of life.

Story
Sarah Bessey was in her sweet spot: a popular author, sought-after speaker and preacher, and an active and engaged mother of four, married to the love of her life. Raised within the Word of Faith and prosperity movements, which declared that obedience to God led to untold blessings, her life seemed to prove the preachers of her childhood were right. Then she was in a car accident with life-shattering consequences, and everything she thought she knew about God and faith was upended. Sarah tells us the whole story of the car accident that changed her body and changed her life.

An excellent read…it’s both dinner and dessert
Sarah writes big intellectual truths and historical facts, weaved in with beautiful romantic imagery and it all ends with thought provoking ideas that cause you to feel seen, heard and challenged at the same time. I’ve had this book for a long time and it was great the first time. I just picked it up after a particular battle with health, life and faith and it has now become a white light of hope. I would recommend this book wholeheartedly to anyone that is at a crossroads between holding on to an old idea and feeling deflated and lost. Unpack and sort with Sarah, you’re in for a great time!

Great work!
Important: the narrator is very suited to this book! Thank you Joell
Also, it’s amazing how Sarah Bessy blends good story telling with the heart felt expression of her own faith journey. There are unanswered questions and unresolved hurts that she talks about freely! Just like my world! I so recommend this book <3
Revelation 12:11 comes to mind.
