Publisher's Summary
Everyone wants to be loved - to find someone who will stick with them through all of life's ups and downs, someone who is in it for the long haul. But in a world where dating is increasingly based on split-second decisions and geared toward casual relationships rather than marriage, it's easy for single people to feel discouraged, used, or unworthy of true love and lasting affection. Reality just never seems to match up with our (often wildly unrealistic) expectations.
Jonathan "JP" Pokluda has counseled thousands of young singles through the pain and heartbreak of dating the world's way. Now he wants to dispel the myths, misconceptions, and fairy tales you've believed about dating and replace them with the truth from the One who invented marriage, created you to crave relationship, and is the very embodiment of true love. With plenty of true stories about relationships healed and love found, this practical book explains God's purposes for singleness, dating, and marriage and covers why you should date, who you should date, and how you should date.
If you're ready to trade the world's way of dating for the way that actually works, it's time to begin dating well.

Great read
I think this book covered a lot of things I knew with a few new things to learn. A must read for every Christian single and dating couples.
A number of things stood out for me - adultery - dating someone that's already cheating on you even by watching porn alone (knew knowledge) is enough grounds for a break up.
Dating someone that's not fully committed to God - break up.
Dating someone who hits you just once - doesn't have to be more than once - break up!
I just ended a relationship with someone who was not fully committed to God, who had a pattern of wrong decisions and this book was a confirmation that I had made the right choice.
Thanks for the Godly wisdom!

THE Single Best Book on Godly Dating and Marriage!
I cannot recommend this book enough for Christian singles who want to be married and marry well. I first listened to Jonathan Pokluda's series Relationship Goals from The Porch back in 2018 and this book expands upon that series very well. Now I need to buy a hard copy!

Unfortunately not for me...
I discovered the author on the Heart of Dating podcast, which prompted me to buy this book. I was hoping for a fresh perspective on Christian dating. But after a few chapters in, I just don't think it's for me. While I agree on almost everything the author talks about, the book overall takes on an argumentative, Christianese tone that doesn't sit well with me. It felt more like an introductory level on Christian dating. I personally didn't really learn anything new, and while it's important to have the content backed up biblically, after a while, it just felt like a regurgitation of verses.
Perhaps my overall view and rating on this book might have been different had I read it instead of listening to it as an audiobook. Personally, the narration was tough for me to listen to. I would have enjoyed more intonation, and longer breaks in-between sentences.
I'm currently at chapter 9 - I'm not sure if I will finish it.
