Publisher's Summary
Less needy means more attractive!
Are you always trying to make your relationship better, but somehow, only make your partner upset? Now, you can put an end to your frustration and get the love you want more easily.
This guide takes the struggle out of overcoming neediness. Using clear examples and down-to-earth explanations, you will quickly begin to experience closer relationships. And by overcoming neediness, you will become more confident and attractive.
For more than two decades, Jack Ito, PhD, has coached thousands of men and women to rescue and rebuild their relationships in the wake of relationship disasters, including affairs, psychological problems, addictions, and total loss of love by one partner. In this groundbreaking book, he uses effective communication techniques to help you turn any marital conflict situation into an opportunity for emotional connection.
Dr. Ito's methods for building connection are empowering. In this book, he covers the behaviors that needy people have which drive partners out the door or into the arms of someone else. If you find yourself putting a lot of effort into fixing your relationship, only to make things worse, this audiobook is for you.
Listeners will be encouraged to find that for every damaging behavior they have, there is a positive, secure behavior that they can substitute. By switching to a more secure way of relating, listeners will become more attractive and be able to have long-term, satisfying relationships that are less work for them and less work for their partners.
This audiobook also includes a chapter on how to help your partner overcome neediness. You can give that chapter to your partner to use to help you. Or, you can use it to help your partner overcome neediness as well. There are few things more satisfying than a loving relationship between two secure partners.

Where has this been all my life?
It's usually through a relationship Crisis that someone comes to discovering a book like this, and I am no different.
Admittedly I was skeptical at first, but as I continued to listen, everything made so much sense.
I have read many self help books, and have taken much therapy, but never have I had "aha" moments like I have with this book.
I always knew I had anxiety and self esteem issues, but I never realized before just how much I used reassurance seeking to manage my anxiety, or its effects on my relationships.
I love how jack breaks down the dynamics in relatable ways and gives you real useful tools for how to change your own behavior. I think we sometimes forget how our reactions influence the reactions of others. You can't change someone else, but you can change yourself, and changing yourself can influence change in others.
There is much reference to Jesus in this book, ad being a non religious person I thought it would be off putting, however, Jack simply uses Jesus as an example of what love looks like, without an agenda. whether you believe in Jesus or not, I found that the basic principles of love and empathy ring true, no matter what you believe.

Written for me
This brought me great ease as a result of understanding myself and my actions. The author perfectly described my experiences and I appreciate hearing what it's like for those on the receiving end.
