I'm not sure if it was intentional by the author but all of the stories involve someone upper class and in most of the stories I found I felt unfulfilled not only by the storyline and the actual plot, but also by the ending because most of the stories ended where there wasn't enough evidence, so the wealthy person got away, even though they openly admitted to the crime to the detective, or the murderer died.
I didn't enjoy the stories. I felt they were quite bland and not very suspenseful. Intriguing, mysterious, all of the above?
I listened to the first part of the author's note in the last 45 minutes of the book and everything she talked about using different places because she wanted to draw that into the stories, That must have gotten lost in the dramatization, because. I didn't feel any of that.
not what I expected :(
