About this listen
Joining us at Audible Studios is actor Paterson Joseph.
Born in London and trained at Lamda, Joseph's acting career began in the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has appeared regularly on television in shows such as Peep Show, Timeless and BBC drama Vigil, and on the big screen in movies such as Æon Flux and The Beach.
Joseph wrote and performed in a one man play, titled Sancho: An Act of Remembrance. Now, he has been looking more deeply at the life of Charles Ignatius Sancho, the first Black person to vote in Britain, publishing a novel about his life: The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho.
We will be chatting with Paterson Joseph about who this intriguing historical figure is, what it’s like narrating his own audiobook, and what he hopes will happen after people listen to the book.
