Publisher's Summary

In the peace and tranquility of the woods at Pinehills on a Saturday afternoon, a mobile phone begins to ring. The phone belongs to DC Smith, and it isn't unusual that the call is from Kings Lake Central police station; what is unusual is the fact that he seems to be the subject of an investigation rather than taking part in one. What can the links be between a prisoner's violent death in another county, the disappearance of two teenagers, and the highest profile case in Kings Lake for many years? As Smith and his team begin to untangle the threads, one thing becomes clear - they are dealing with some of the most dangerous people that they have yet encountered.

Good Smith story

I like the dry humour and story twists, enjoyed listening to several of Grainger’s book!

A Most Intelligent Series

I have thoroughly enjoyed the DC Smith series by Peter Grainger. As an aficionado of British police procedurals I have seldom encountered any that are more intelligently and entertainingly written. Gildart Jackson has the knack of delivering the text with just the perfect level of sardonic wit.

Highly recommended.

Love DC Smith stories

Persons of Interest is another Peter Grainger story about DC Smith - a quiet hero who likes to do his work his way even though it frustrates other people. Gildart Jackson is a great narrator and I really enjoy all the stories that I have listened to in this series.

Great audible

I loved this book, the complexity of the storey kept me completely engaged, I could actually keep track of who was whom, unlike others (Rankin) who have 65 characters .
The best things about the book is the main character is smart and quirky and funny and ethical.
This is a smart book with intelligent characters and dialogue -none of the cringe dialogue I experience in so many others.
The narration is Superb!

Another amazing book from Peter Grainger

The underlying humour kept me chuckling while I tried to keep my focus on the complicated plot! I loved it!

Well, narrated

When you have a good narrator, it makes the reading even nicer… Love the plot with all the twist and turns
