Publisher's Summary

Persuasion, Jane Austen's last novel, is a tale of love and marriage told with irony and insight. Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth have met and seperated years before. Their reunion, after the passage or irrecoverable years of their youth, forces a recognition of the false values that drove them apart.

Great classic novel. Excellent narration

Great story. I think the narration really added a lot of depth to the characters

fine but volume varies

I found the audio levels uneven. Otherwise a fine recording. I was using it to sleep and it would occasionally get jarring loud.

A Must Listen

The narrator does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. Anne, Wenworth & Mary especially. Scacchi's Anne is delightfully playful with an abundance of warmth and mature self reflection. Well worth a repeat listen.

This classic story was well narrated

I quite enjoyed listening to this classic story. I think if there was a "con" to this story, it would've been the long empty spaces between some of the paragraphs. This should have been fixed in editing. Ms Scacchi's performance was warm-hearted and on point. I love Jane Austen's work. Ms Scacchi made this story come alive. I totally recommend this story!

Wonderful

Jane Austen at her finest. And the dictation was just right! Soft, easy to listen to and in character with the story.

Excellent !!

Loved it! Excellent voice and accent. Nailed the tone of Austen's sardonic work nicely. Great character voices, very engaging. A great listen!!

well done narrating....

I enjoyed this audio book except for the tendency to make the older characters sound SO old. I am 65 and I don't sound like I am 97.

A true classic

Jane Austin is truly a timeless author. After listening to this book, I watched the movie version too. I really enjoyed this book. The narrator was very easy to listen to.
