About this listen

In this irresistible mystery from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Joanne Fluke, Hannah Swensen is at the center of a lively summer fest with fun for everyone in Lake Eden, Minnesota—including a cold-blooded murderer....

The Tri-County Summer Solstice Celebration has come to town, and even among local artisans, athletes, and marching bands, Hannah attracts fans of her own while serving lip-smacking pink lemonade desserts. But the mood sours when a body turns up, leading revelers to wonder if the festivities mark both the longest day of the year and the deadliest....

A retired professional MLB player has met a terrifying end—and, considering the rumors swirling about his past, the list of suspects could fill a small stadium. Among them could soon be Delores, Hannah’s mother, who publicly held a grudge against the victim after he infamously dunked her in the tank at a previous county fair....

Now, with her mother’s innocence on the line, a life-changing announcement at The Cookie Jar, and a plethora of desserts to bake, Hannah can’t afford to strike out as she begins a dangerous investigation into the ruthless killer who’s truly in a league of their own....

Disappointed

I have loved these books as an easy and clean listen and have kept reading for the continual plot points throughout the books but I’m getting increasingly disappointed.
Nothing new is being developed in any of the characters and the mystery in this book was just bad.
Not sure if I will keep reading this series.

These keep getting worse

Joanne Fluke is phoning it in at this point to make money. If the only reason to keep writing more of these books is a contract, then the publisher should really rip it up.

The mysteries have gotten so bad, the story tedious to follow, and the characters have become annoying to the point that you hope they'll be killed off so there won't be any more books.

What happened to Hannah Swensen is just sad, a character written down to the point of being a sad lowly cliche of what people expected in the early 90s. The Hallmark character is written better - and some of those movies aren't the best (all of which are still much better than any of the last 10 books in this series).

Save yourself a credit - and potentially any future credits - don't keep listening to these books.

Love the books

It is great to have an audio read consistently read by the same person, no undue swearing or political opinions just honest writing to enjoy and relax with, I have enjoyed every one of them and look forward to many more with Hanna and the gang. Thankyou Joanne, sincerely Patricia
