About this listen
Popular parenting blogger Rebecca Eanes believes that parenting advice should be about more than just getting kids to behave. Struggling to maintain a meaningful connection with her two little ones and frustrated by the lack of emotionally aware books for parents, she began to share her own insights online. Her following has grown into a thriving community - hundreds of thousands strong.
In this eagerly anticipated guide, Eanes shares her hard-won wisdom for overcoming limiting thought patterns and recognizing emotional triggers, as well as advice for connecting with kids at each stage, from infancy to adolescence. This heartfelt, insightful advice comes not from an "expert", but from a learning, evolving parent. Filled with practical, solution-oriented advice, this is an empowering guide for any parent who longs to end the yelling, power struggles, and downward spiral of acting out, punishment, resentment, and shame - and instead foster an emotional connection that helps kids learn self-discipline, feel confident, and create lasting, loving bonds.

Positively Perfect
#Audible1
I love the concept of positive parenting. Rebecca Eanes does a lovely job of guiding one through all aspects of creating a positive environment for you and your little one. This book challenges you to think about roots from your own upbringing and any corrections that might be necessary to allow for a more positive and nurturing experience for your infant, child, teenager etc.

lots of actionable tips and suggestions
loved it. that said, as with many books on parenting, most of times there are references to a family in which both parents play full in and are committed to each other. every once in a while to have a chapter spotlighting the different challenges of parenting alone it would be refreshing and make you feel "you are not alone". in this book there is one testimonial of one single mom, but it would be great to have suggestions for these situations (oh so many!) in which the family is disrupted and high, chronic stress and conflict is a status quo.

Highly recommend
This book has really helped us to end "us against them" and it feels so good. It really helped to change our views of our children.

A very soft book short on concrete elements
People and the study of them is a soft science and this book is very soft indeed. I took sociology of the family at university so many of the topics and theories touched upon felt familiar but there was no exploration of them here. The book felt like the knockoff Big Mac at some small corner deli hoping that because it isn’t the chain you will overlook the lack of any depth, but they are already copying something without depth leaving the result very shallow.
Without the physical book I can say for sure but it felt like each chapter would be filled with links to other people for actual details, techniques and YouTube videos even to watch. Listening to it I briefly thought to make notes on where and what I was to look up for more but there got to be too many for me to be bothered in the end.
If you are already trying an approach like this the book can either clap you on the back, but it wouldn’t sell _me_ on switching if I hadn’t already been trying it.
