About this listen
She thought her prayers had been answered. Now she’s praying for time.
Vanessa Everly is a successful actress in Los Angeles, but she’s still traumatized by the night that ripped her world apart. Eight years ago, Vanessa and her younger sister Roxanne were attacked on the beach in their hometown in Oregon - and Roxanne was kidnapped. Devastated, Vanessa ended her relationship with handsome medical student Christian Montgomery, whose troubled brother Brody was the police’s prime suspect.
Now, Vanessa receives the news she never thought she’d hear: Roxanne is alive. Arriving back in Everly Cliffs, Vanessa is reunited with her sister - and with Christian. Roxanne can’t remember what happened that night, but someone else can.... Who’s making threatening phone calls to Vanessa, and why has Brody suddenly gone missing?
Vanessa’s torment should be over, but it’s about to get much darker....

Reader is not great
The reader has a nice sounding voice but she puts emphasis on weird syllables so the reading comes across as questioning sometimes and snobby or stern other times and just odd other times… overall the tone doesn’t match the story and it’s distracting.
The story itself is fine. Not a great work of literature but nice enough.

Great Suspense !!!
This was a surprisingly good book. I almost missed listening since it was only included for the next 36 hours when I started. From the reviews I was sceptical.
I’m so happy I decided to listen and form my own opinion . I absolute love the twists and turns this book introduced at every point.
I thought I knew who the villain was but was shocked at the ending at finding out who it was.!!!!
This book started off a bit slow and a bit corny sometimes, however, once it picked up pace it had me enthralled to see it to the end.
The author wrote a very complex plot that was masterfully narrated.
A great ending and I could not have ever guessed who it was. I loved it . The Epilogue was good too.
I did fast forward a bit lots of mundane details that was just filler.
But lots of book do that now you just have to skip ahead a bit to get into the gory details.
Thanks you Audible Plus for including in my library.

disappointing, but free, so...
Terrible. Predictable. Painful at times. Sorry to be so negative, but I'm being honest:(

Not my style
I hate to be negative, and usually go by the rule that if I can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. It could have been a good mystery, but the editing was poor. It was too saccharine for my taste. The plural of reindeer is reindeer. However, others may enjoy this novel.
