About this listen
EMP blasts started the apocalypse during Tom and his family's return flight to San Francisco from Hawaii. Surviving the crash only caused them to confront the chaos of the apocalypse head-on. Their fellow survivors were helpless and lacked the skills to survive. Tom, his sister, and their grandma survive the perilous trip from San Francisco to their ranch in Southern Oregon using their prepper skills to keep them alive during the anarchy around them. They continue to lead a small band of friends through the chaos and anarchy that has shattered their world.

Horny grade school writing, cliche, predictable.
Ive read/listened to many many apocalyptic novels. This is in the running for worst one yet.

Way too SAPPY to listen to for very long.
The story wasn't bad for the first 2 hours, then it got annoyimg and ridiculous really fast. Constantly calling Tom a hero, And he's constantly talking about the beautiful women, yet from a guy who is a prude by any definition.
I listened until there was 13 hours left, then gave up, as I was getting dizzy from shaking my head and my eyes rolling back in my head. The SAPPY dialog is that of a pre-teen from the 70's, and coupled with the incredibly WHINY voice of the narrator when the women were talking, was totally annoying and ridiculous. I couldn't subject myself any longer.
I had high hopes for this one, because of the title and realistic story line it presented... but I will know better next time I check into anything AJ Newman writes.
