About this listen
Seth
Portland was supposed to be my fresh start, my chance to live for myself. Unfortunately, it’s not working out that way. I stay in the apartment Mom chose and major in finance like she wants. I let bad memories keep me from hooking up. I wouldn’t know the first thing about finding a guy who gets me, who’s okay with my need to be held and feel safe.
When I befriend a worker at the assisted living facility where I volunteer, I don’t expect to get invited to dinner, only to realize her son is Jake, a guy I met through friends last fall. Jake’s not only hot, he’s also sweet, a caretaker, and attracted to me too. Since he’s never been with a guy, and I’m a virgin, we’re setting the pace together, learning what we like, one bone-melting touch at a time.
Jake
My childhood was rocky, with an abusive father and a mother I needed to protect. The first thing I did after high school graduation was get us out of there so we could finally breathe. And start living. For me that means managing the garage I own with my best friend and enjoying the modest house I call my own.
Then Seth enters my life. Our connection is palpable. He’s shy, innocent, and sets my blood on fire. He makes it impossible to ignore my attraction to men. The trust he puts in me is more potent than any desire. I get as much from talking to or holding him as when we let our inhibitions go.
Seth and I fulfill each other’s needs - in and out of the bedroom. But our struggles aren’t easy to shake. With my urge to protect and Seth’s desire to fly, we’ll have to strike the right balance, but when we do, the results will be pretty sweet.

#mm #oppositesattract #boysinmakeup
* love and care
* Gay virgin and first time with man Bi
* Dual pov
* Great character development
When I first started this book right from the get go Seth was saying he lived where he didn't want to, drove a car he didn't want to, studies a subject in college he doesn't want to, is a virgin who is expected to marry a nice girl even though he came out and keeps his makeup wearing and job at a gay club on the DL. I just thought oh God here we go again. This is so over used in books and I'm getting so sick of it. You're an adult live your life. GRRR. So ya I almost didn't read it but I decided to give it at least a fair try and I'm so glad that I did. So if you're thinking the same at the beginning def keep reading.
From there we see Seth is a super loveable guy who works in a gay club and wears makeup albeit on the DL from his parents and I found him really interesting so I was glad I read more than the first chapter. Hes shy and awkward in the most adorable way. He spends his time doing make up at a senior center and thats where a lady introduces him to her son.
I loved Jake and his mom so much. Jake and Seth were a good match. Jake was a natural care giver and Seth was lonley and sensitive and came across as easily manipulated. He def needed a care giver partner who could encourage him to do what he actually wanted to do in life instead of being afraid to stand up to his parents. I loved how Jakes mom volunteered to be a substitute mom for Seth. The three of them are just the perfect little family. I loved it. This book is super swoony sweet.
Michael Dean is great as always. This book has the moms and old ladies in a lot of it and he does all the voices great.
