About this listen
Whether you are seeing a doctor, a nutritionist, or a trainer, all of them advise eating more protein. Foods, drinks, and supplements are loaded with extra protein. Many people use protein for weight control while others believe it gives them more energy. Now, weight loss expert Dr. Garth Davis asks, "Is all this protein making us healthier?"
The answer, he emphatically argues, is no. Too much protein is actually making us sick, fat, and tired, according to Dr. Davis. If you are getting adequate calories in your diet, there is no such thing as protein deficiency. The healthiest countries in the world eat far less protein than we do, and yet we have an entire nation getting sicker by the day.
As a surgeon, Dr. Davis was frustrated by the ever-increasing number of sick and overweight patients, but it wasn't until his own health scare that he realized he could do something about it. Combining cutting-edge research with his hands-on patient experience, this groundbreaking book reveals the truth about the dangers of protein and shares a proven approach to weight loss, health, and longevity.

Great resource for vegetarian diet
I've been vegetarian for 26 years and switched to animal protein to lose weight. Thanks to this book I learned that I never needed animal protein nor do I need to eat huge amounts of protein period. I am delighted to go back to my plant protein diet with a better understanding of what to eat and why.

Excellent Book!
I purchased the hard copy but then found I didn't have time to read it while going through Nutrition school so I purchased the audiobook so that I could listen to it in the car on my way to school. Fantastic book. Well said, scientifically sound advice, references are abundant in the hard copy. #Audible1

Eat less meat to be healthy?but what about protein
Here you go, the answer to "Where do you get your protein" and "how much protein do you need" or "how little do we need" is all in here. Also, why are we so sick, and is eating a tone of protein working for us? All in this book, with solid science to back up his info.
I loved it. It made me relax about "Where I am going to find protein today?" as a vegan.

Thin content - better suited to an essay
I bought this on sale, so was willing to risk disappointment. It had a promising description, but in reality, it's very repetitive and narrow in scope. Even skipping ahead a lot still resulted in my hearing the same refrain between filler. His message is important so I feel bad about dissing the messenger, but I finally had to give up on the book; I found no reason to believe more information would be forthcoming if I persevered.
