Publisher's Summary

An unfortunate accident, an old grudge, and a Sapphic fake romance.

Since A-List actress and Hollywood's sweetheart Wren Acker came out, not only is she at the top of the acting world; she's also crush number one for her queer fanbase. Loving life, loving her job, loving her cat-everything is fantastic. Except that lack of any kind of private life.

When a car accident brings her to the ER, the bottom falls out of her world when she realizes that reserved Doctor Taylor, her physician, is Madison Taylor from camp way back when she was a kid. And boy, does Madison still hold a well-earned grudge for how that all ended.

When Madison ends up working on Wren's set as a medical consultant, suddenly everyone's assuming they're a couple. The media loses it, their fanbase grows even further, and the entire thing snowballs.

Every grudge has to be moved on from eventually, right?

Contains mature themes.

Love a good G Benson story.

The humor, the humanity, the adorable characters all come together for an entertaining read that leaves you feeling lighter than when you started. I listen to her books more than once, whenever I need a pick-me-up.

Love Story About Grief and Healing

Just so people have warning, I would definitely say this story is as much or almost as much about grief as it is about love. I probably couldn't have read it a year ago as I suffered a major traumatic loss (not easy to bear witness), though thankfully not a life partner, two years ago. It's not the only reason I identified with Maddison more than Wren, but it's a major one. It's been a few years for Maddison so this is really her healing part of the journey, but it may not seem like it at first. Between this and her book All the Little Moments I'd be shocked if Benson hasn't been rocked by grief. Anyways, it was a beautiful second chance romance with a hint of fake romance thrown in. For a more drawn out fake romance plot I'd recommend Casting Lacey by Elle Spencer, Just for Show by Jae, or Breaking Character by Lee Winter. I enjoyed this one to the hilt. I would love if Benson did a spin-off book with new romantic leads either at Wren's new job or at Maddison's hospital. Sometimes Trinity seems more bi than the straight she says she is so that could be fun as an example.

3/10

I thought this was going to be a good romance book where the 2 MC make up over time and get together with a gew hiccups along the way but the way Ren constantly dose stuff and ignores the doctors wishes ruined the whole book Ren goes on and on about how they won't let's charecters be queer on screen and how queer baiting is bad but the second the doctor said she wanted to set the record straight about the rumors of then going out caus it makes her uncomfortable and rui s her social and private life what fose Ren do she goes infront of everyone and says yeah we are a couple Ren has no spine and is a hypocrit worst credit ever spent wish I had a refund
