Publisher's Summary

Poppy's to-do list might be short, but it's not easy.

1. Make it to the underworld before the insidious human organization that wants to control it.

2. Defend the underworld's Norse goddess of Helheim.

3. Claim the throne.

A battle for the underworld is brewing. Taking the throne might be close to impossible between having a goddess and a secretive human organization bent on the domination of all the realms on her tail. How can Poppy, her hellhounds, and her judges defend it? It doesn't help when one of her judges goes missing while she sleeps.

When they fall under attack Poppy must choose between fighting, staying safe, and searching for her missing man. After a wild chase through the underworld, Poppy has three questions. Who can she trust? Who will betray her for power? How many more secrets the Underworld is hiding?

Contains mature themes.

Great potential

Good but the wording was awkward sometimes. I had little issue with how the story went overall, and the maturity and personalities of the characters were quite pleasing.
The female narrator wasn't the best fit, in my opinion, and took getting used to. She sounded better in book 2 and 3 but I might have just gotten used to her. Meanwhile, I'm a big fan of the male narrator and have read many book with that deep, husky voice.
This isn't a book I'm likely to reread but I enjoyed it while I was into it.

Great story potential

This was book 3 and like 50 shades of gray I kept going thinking there was a story in between the BDSM. This series has a story sadly it’s in between some lengthy graphics porn scenes. While I don’t mind the intermittent interlude. When a book is 5 hours long it seems all this length Folds and ect seems to occupy a better part of it, unless you’re into this I’d say give it a miss cringe worthy harlequin romance

so good

I really enjoyed this series! the female narrator was amazing but I feel like the male narrator could have tried to make the guys sound much different from eachother but overall so good.

Okay but Annoying by the End

The series as a whole was okay but after a while it got annoying. Having them be in the middle of trouble but stop to take naps or throw in spicy bits left me asking myself over and over "do you really have time for this?" and the female narrator wasn't the best. I like the male narrator but I think the story he was reading really dragged down his performance. Also, some of the wording choices were just cringey like "puppy pile" or "battle brother". I hated every time they used it.

Excellent fun time!

I honestly wish there was more. Truly enjoyed all of this story. There are some minor grammatical mistakes and writing mistakes that could have been cleared up by an editor in this book, less in books 1 & 2. But I would wholeheartedly recommend this series to anyone looking for a light read that still has story and substance...and I'd rate the spice at 3.5, although there is a lot of it, it doesn't get too explicit or adventurous.

Love the spice!

The story was simple enough not many twists & turns but that’s okay with me I just enjoyed all the spice! The female performer wasn’t my favourite but I loved the male voice!

Incredibly boring

Okay, I'll admit. I only finished this series because of the male narrator. Yes, it's silly, but his voice was the only thing worth it about this story. I think the whole plot was a mess. Creating a human group that came out of nowhere was just to fill a void. There were no explanation whatsoever for the group's origins, so I got the impression the author created Alpha just to increase the number of words. Poppy is a terrible character. She didn't evolve at all throughout the series. Instead, she just became even more boring and predictable. I think the female narrator's voice had something to do with my impression of the character as well because her voice was simply... Too much. Too breathy to sound natural, too strained to sound like someone normally talking... I didn't like it. I felt a slight improvement in book 2, but it all went down the drain in this one.
