About this listen
Reclaiming Reality: A Therapist's Guide to Conquering Depersonalization is more than just a book—it's a part of my life. As a therapist who has personally navigated the disorienting maze of depersonalization, I invite you to join me on an intimate journey into the heart of this often misunderstood disorder.
Depersonalization can feel like a silent thief, stealing away our connection to reality, to ourselves, to the world around us. But it doesn't have to stay that way. Drawing on personal experiences and up-to-date research, we'll explore the landscape of depersonalization together—from its historical roots to its varied causes, from recognizing its presence to tackling its multifaceted manifestations.
But this book is not just about understanding depersonalization—it's about reclaiming your reality. We'll delve into the world of treatment options, from medication to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and even creative therapies like art. I'll share with you the strategies I've found most useful in managing and ultimately overcoming depersonalization.
Through Reclaiming Reality: A Therapist's Guide to Conquering Depersonalization, I hope to offer more than just a resource for therapists, individuals living with depersonalization, and their loved ones. I hope to offer a beacon of hope—proof that with understanding, resilience, and the human spirit, we can face even life's most enigmatic challenges and come out stronger. Join me, and let's reclaim reality together.

Over powered with obvious platitudes
While there are some viable techniques offered here, there’s nothing new or revolutionary.
The author relies far too often on the quotes of others. Having suffered with DP for many years it is somewhat insulting to be constantly bombarded with chin up style quotes rather than actual knowledge.
Not a terrible book for a cursory lesson on DP but not as effective as I hoped for.
