As predicted, online giants like Amazon and Alibaba.com are growing at a dizzying pace. Author and internationally renowned consumer futurist, Doug Stephens, paints a bold vision of the future where every aspect of the retail experience as we know it, will be radically transformed. From online to bricks and mortar, the very concept of what stores are, how consumers shop them, and even the core economic model for revenue, will be will be profoundly reinvented; changes sure to affect not only retailers large and small but any business with a stake in the global retail industry.

Infused with real-world examples and interviews with industry disruptors, Reengineering Retail illustrates the vast opportunities at play for bold brands and business leaders. Stephens’ strategies will provide businesses with the foresight required to move quickly and effectively into the future.

Fabulous read for retailers

It got a little boring at times lol, but overall I would highly recommend this book.
Tons of great information. Reader was easy to listen to, clear and precise.

Lots of stories with only some takeaways

Narrator did a great job. The content however is only ok, mostly because there are too many stories and examples that drag on, taking away from the principles and takeaways that one would enjoy. Or at least that I would enjoy.

The book begins by mentioning the 5 keys to a remarkable retail experience: the experience being engaging, unique, personalized, surprising, and repeatable. I thought the content of the book would surrounded those principles. Perhaps it did? However not in an orderly fashion. In fact it wasn't until the final paragraphs that those 5 elements are even mentioned again.

I was always hoping we would dive deeper into each of the five, but it never happened.

All in all a useful listen but limited takeaways.
