Publisher's Summary

No one screws with my family.

My sister and I are human orphans raised by the world’s best assassin, taught to steal and kill our way through the dragonlands under her watchful eye. Grown men fear us, and no one knows we’re coming until it’s too late to run.

Irena and I - we’re good. The best. In a dog-eat-dragon kind of world, we have to be. But someone betrayed us. Someone we trusted with our lives.

Irena is missing. My mentor is gone. And as for me...the man responsible for this mess thought he killed me. He kicked me into a pit, and he left me to die.

But I don’t give up that easy.

In the darkness, facing death itself, I fused with dragons. I had no choice. This is ancient magic, and dangerous people want it. They want me, dead or alive, and they’ll start a war if that’s what it takes to control me.

The magic I discovered - the magic these brutal people want - it’s mine, plain and simple. No one can take it from me. And I’m coming back from the dead.

For blood. For vengeance.

For Irena.

Reign of Dragons is a full-length novel with a badass heroine, a riveting storyline, and an alternative relationship dynamic. Get ready for a heart-pounding story filled with a dragon shifter romance unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Buckle in for heart-pounding action, breathtaking magic, deadly assassins, four drop-dead gorgeous leading men, lots of toned muscles, and most importantly - a young woman’s journey of justice, self-discovery, and freedom.

Erin Bennett is an AWESOME narrator

I think this is the first book by Olivia Ash that I've tried.
I gave a 3 star more for my reference than a true reflection of the author. I didn't finish the book because I'm not a fan of a polygamous female, particularly where all her men are supposed "alpha's." The concept of possessive Alphas sharing a woman is irreconcilable in my mind, a complete oxymoron and makes a story "less believable" to me. Obviously this is a work of fiction, and I missed the polygamy disclaimer. This story may be just the pick for you, but, not me.

More romance then fantasy

The narrator was great, but the story was very slow and more of a twilight style teen book. Tried to finish it but couldn’t. But as a said the narrator was really good.

It’s good but the main character bugs me

I was upset that when the lead female character got into her powers and she had physical changes that it “removed all fat from her body, gave her bigger boobs & better hair”
Honestly that was the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. And her inner dialogue is annoying, second guessing when she’s meant to be a big badass. I was so frustrated that she put her life and the life of other on the line for a stupid rescue mission for a person she’s shouldn’t of rescued.
Besides for all that I’m intrigued by the world they live in and these gods we haven’t met yet. Plus I like the men in her life, they are the only reason I will read book 2.

OP ASSASSINS! Underwhelming dragons!

This book is so full of cliché spy tropes it got on my nerves. The “specters” are ludicrously op super assassins that can “take two dragons at once”. They are also antisocial assholes and loners. Very bad movie spies. The dragons are underwhelming and I just listened to a scene where 8 of them get taken down by one guy with a taser. So ya, if you like books with actually threatening bad guys this ain’t for you.

Not my cup of tea.

Honestly, I liked what she tried to do with the story. However I think she got way to carried away making the main character have sexual relations with almost every male she speaks to. Don’t get me wrong I love a good love triangle but this was too much for me. I almost forgot what the actual story was about with how little happened before she was trying to jump another characters bones.

Listened to the second half at 1.5 speed

At first I found the story interesting. A female assassin who is bestowed with a mysterious power and needs to find out answers. Welp, that ended quickly. For a story that says it is a female-driven novel, it spends A LOT of time talking about men. There are literally no other female characters in the book.

Sometimes they write her as an over-powered intelligent assassin, the next moment she is making dumb tactile decisions and rescuing someone it makes no sense to rescue.

The romance is also so cringe. The way they describe these “possessive alphas” who want nothing more than to protect and own her, makes me want to roll my eyes into the back of my skull. All these hundred year old dragons tripping over each other for one random 20 year old girl. Give me a break.

By the time she got toe the dojo I was so bored, I just needed to know how to story ended so I listened at 1.5 speed. Will not be following up on the remaining books because it just seems like more of the annoying same thing.

dnf and won't continue series

this book should not be labeled fantasy, it should be paranormal or shifters and indicate REVERSE HAREM!! regardless, this book failed on all levels.

I started skipping around the 4th chapter, mainly because of the mfc. first it was because of the repetition of how badass and stealthy she is and should be second in line to her mentor. then it was her actual lack of intelligence in so many things but with the most annoying bravado of thinking she's superior to everyone. but when, with little to no fantasy adventure in between, the fl harps on and on....and on of how she shouldn't be attracted to or find the four men/dragon attractive but can't control her wanton desires, I called it quits.

I originally skipped, listen for a few minutes and kept skipping. I stopped after the chapter of her having sex with the human of her "mates", cause right before and even the morning after, she was still thinking she couldn't trust him, but then ...and I quote, " she opened her legs wider to welcome....". nothing says mistrust like allowing someone to "drill" into your body. To make matters worse, it felt like she was being purposefully aloof to the other men's feelings of her sleeping with each of them by openly parading the fact, though its clear none of them trust each other.

I thought this was a fantasy type novel, but it's more of a reverse harem with two overly cocky dragons, a man trapped in a dragons body, and a human male all of who are pulling the lust out of a human female with an over inflated ego.

there is a LOT of repetition and internal dialog by the female lead and I wish there was dialog by all leads.

the narration didn't help. the female lead just sounds like a brat who has had too many pats on her head so she has become complacent and thinks she knows best.

Way Too Winded

I got almost 2 hours in, and I'm still waiting for something to happen. The main character talks way too much about herself and is often repetitive. She also states the obvious, ALOT. Some of the writing is borderline cringe.
The plot is promising, and the narrator isn't bad, but I think I'll pass on this one.
