Publisher's Summary

A wildly imaginative novel about a man who is reincarnated over 10,000 lifetimes to be with his one true love: Death herself.

First we live. Then we die. And then...we get another try?

Ten thousand tries, to be exact. Ten thousand lives to "get it right". Answer all the big questions. Achieve wisdom. And become one with everything.

Milo has had 9,995 chances so far and has just five more lives to earn a place in the cosmic soul. If he doesn't make the cut, oblivion awaits. But all Milo really wants is to fall forever into the arms of Death. Or Suzie, as he calls her.

More than just Milo's lover throughout his countless layovers in the Afterlife, Suzie is literally his reason for living - as he dives into one new existence after another, praying for the day he'll never have to leave her side again.

But Reincarnation Blues is more than a great love story: Every journey from cradle to grave offers Milo more pieces of the great cosmic puzzle - if only he can piece them together in time to finally understand what it means to be part of something bigger than infinity. As darkly enchanting as the works of Neil Gaiman and as wisely hilarious as Kurt Vonnegut's, Michael Poore's Reincarnation Blues is the story of everything that makes life profound, beautiful, absurd, and heartbreaking.

Because it's more than Milo and Suzie's story. It's your story, too.

What the critics say

"Tales of gods and men akin to Neil Gaiman's Sandman as penned by a kindred spirit of Douglas Adams." ( Kirkus Reviews, starred review)

Just wow

This was just an incredible listen, so much imagination required to write something like this.

Brilliant story that takes you through time

A fantastic journey through life, and a multitude of deaths, that will leave you laughing, crying and wondering. This is, in my humble opinion, perfection!

If I could give it 10 starts!

What a great listen! I enjoyed the creative play with words for at times very dark sense of humour. This I recommend this one for anyone who wants a entertaining, not so lovely “love story that transcends all space and time”.

Oddly Mesmerizing....

I initially chose this book while perusing books narrated by Mark Bramhall. The title was strangely appealing. The book itself is a bit of fantasy and a bit of philosophy all wrapped up in an epic tale of Milo and Susie. I must say that I will never forget Milo and Susie. I found myself chuckling out loud at points, sad at other junctures and haunted by some scenes. Overall, I was mesmerized by the story and amused with Milo's dry humorous observations of what could have been pious or even sanctimonious experiences. Overall, I really enjoyed this book but I am sure that over time, I will continue to revisit many of the events in an attempt to really figure out the overall meaning. lol

Stories Within A Story

A quirky romance with thought-provoking themes and some truly bizarre settings/scenarios, this is both not what I was expecting and yet exactly what I was expecting.

Milo is a man who has been reincarnated multiple times and has fallen in love with an aspect of Death. To be with her, he must achieve perfection and find her again through alternate realities and different lives.

Milo and Suzy are sweet, cute characters who have a connection on a cosmic level. They are easy to relate to, though who they are definitely changes as they progress through different lives, some of which are not the most pleasant to endure.

This book has stories within stories, and at times it felt like I was reading multiple books at once, which was the intention. Still, I didn't connect with some of the stories in ways that I wished, so it got a little challenging at times to wait until Milo entered a life I found engaging and meaningful.

Not to say that the writing wasn't solid enough to provide lessons and messages at the end of each journey. They did, I just felt like there was something missing and that the pacing was a little off. The book is also not very linear and changes tenses, taking you on a journey that asks for an opening of the mind and imagination. Again, not a flaw in the book at all, it takes great talent to do something like this. It's just not what I'm used to and forced me to change how I interpret what I read.

This is an interesting book for any reader who likes to think outside the box, or anyone who deeply enjoyed the film EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE, ALL AT ONCE. It's funny, odd, and unconventional, and tells a great message at the end. Recommended for anyone who likes weird and wild books!
