Excellent content to bring couples together
I absolutely love Stan Tatkin's approach and accessible way he describes/explains humans & relationships.
The stories/case studies in the book are extremely interesting and helpful.
As a coach who supports people in relationships with trauma survivors, I often recommend this book as an excellent resource for couples to listen to together to help them better understand themselves and each other.
Grateful for Stan Tatkin's work in this world!!

accessible, evidence-based, practical
I listened to this entire book which I rarely do. It is rooted in neuroscientific and attachment research and delivered like a conversation with your next door neighbour. I have read a lot of couple therapy books and this is by far my favourite. It makes sense in a way that seems fundamentally different from other couple therapist books, perhaps because has such a positive and clearly defined notion of what a relationship even is and uses depathologizing language around attachment systems. This is a book that walks the talk. It is compassionate to the reader while providing compassionate advice to anyone who wants to have a secure functioning adult relationship regardless of how troubled their own family of origin was.
