Good Narration, interesting potential but no follow through
The story started strong and with the good quality of the narration, I was very hopeful that the characters and development would continue along the interesting path they started on making this a well rounded audio experience. Unfortunately the character development stops immediately and the entire book is spent in a limbo waiting for the promise of something to happen.

Better than I expected!
The narrator did such a good job, I was hooked right away. The story is simple to follow, without being too simple. The romance is steamy, and the tension is palpable between our two protagonists. There are some sensitive topics, but they are not a main focus of the story. The female lead isn't too insufferable, her actions and thoughts are relatable. Obviously, the dark and mysterious male lead just scratches that itch. All and all, a very good read (listen :p).

The main characters are goals
I loved this book. Took a bit to get into it but once I did I couldn’t stop. The world building is magical. The characters are relatable. The sexual tension is palpable. There were moments I found myself laughing, gasping and shrieking out loud. Such a good change from some of the heavier romantasy I’ve been reading. Highly recommend!

Who doesnt want a Desmond in their life?
Definately worth listening to. Well written, there are some sensitive topics but they are not the focus of the book. Touched on in order to establish why and how the charaters finally get together. I was hesitant at first but as the book went on and I paid more attention to it, I was hooked.
Super book, super writting, super narration.
Now to go find me a Desmond...swoon worthy creature he is. <3

Not what I was expecting
Do I typically read fantasy… no. did I actually enjoy this one … surprisingly yes. Do I now want a winged man to come and save me … also yes. If you’re on the fence for fantasy and want something less complex this is your friend.

Fun, spicy read
The narrator did an excellent job, she really captures the characters well.
This is a decent story, spicy near the end. The world building and characters aren’t that detailed or complex but that’s ok because it’s a fun read. If I want detail and depth, I’ll go read Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo but if I just want a fantasy romance with likeable characters and a fun plot, and brought to life by an excellent narrator, then this absolutely hits the spot.
Content warning: a character has a traumatic history of sexual assault. Other mentions of sexual assault as well.
