About this listen
Rico Demara has suffered more hardships in life than anyone deserves, but every time he got beat down, he got up again and dusted himself off. With some help from family and a good friend, Rico has finally fulfilled his dream of owning a successful bar—the Cock & Bull. Now, if only his personal life could consist of more than a combination of one-night stands, friends with benefits, and dates from hell.
Evan Calhoun married his high-school sweetheart, has two kids, and spent the last twenty years denying to himself and everyone else that he was gay. After an amicable divorce, he’s starting over, but a few random hookups and failed dates weren’t what he was hoping for. He wants to find someone he can spend the rest of his life with. Someone like the gorgeous man he spots tending bar—a man who makes Evan weak in the knees and sends his heart soaring just by saying hello to him.

Great story
4.5 stars
This could be read as a standalone if u only intend to read it. However, if you are going to read the series than do so in order cause a lot of names are dropped in this and lots of talk of both past events and updates on previous characters relationships. Also, the previous book was great so I recommend reading it first.
I really enjoyed the plot. It was interesting and a definite page turner. I feft off half a star cause I don't like that Rico left Evan hanging like he did making things worse (trying to be vague not to spoiler). Just glad it didn't last long.
This was a super quick one. Though it is complete and didn't feel like anything was missing. Both the MCs were great as well as the side characters. The MCs had great chemistry. Though short, the romance didn't feel like instalove. It felt like it developed organically with the use of time jumping. It is medium to low heat and medium to low angst. I would definitely recommend this book and the entire series. Looking forward to the next one.
I bought the audio simply because I had enjoyed the book from reading the arc before and the price is low. Personally I'm not a fan of the narrator. Maybe for a country setting kind of book he would sound ok but I didn't think his voice suited the characters. I didn't hate it though. I've heard way worse. I also didn't like that he didn't really differentiate between the main characters voices. I did like that he did portray the emotions so I would rate the narration 3 stars.
