About this listen

Collected here for the first time is every piece of short fiction from New York Times best seller Mira Grant's acclaimed Newsflesh series, with two new never-before published novellas and all eight short works available for the first time.

We had cured cancer. We had beaten the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, a man-made virus taking over bodies and minds, filling them with one, unstoppable command...feed.

Mira Grant creates a chilling portrait of an America paralyzed with fear. No one leaves their houses and entire swaths of the country have been abandoned. And only the brave, the determined, or the very stupid, venture out into the wild.

Loved revisiting this world and these characters.

I was a little lost and thought it was a memoir then remembered how the newsflesh series was written and it makes more sense. I couldn't separate the author narration from the story for a while but if you just listen it's obvious and has the same great writing I expect from Mira Grant's novels.

Great reminder of why I loved the NewsFlesh series

Every story is great except Australia. Remembered why I love Mira Grant's intriguing writing style

Great surprise

I didn't read the description because I was so excited to see that there was another book in what I thought was the series. As soon as I started listening to the forward, I thought it was going to be a compilation of all the books in the series into a single package, which annoyed me, because of course I already owned them all. I was glad I stuck with it, because after it became clear that it was a selection of short stories (novellas?) in the Newsflesh world, I wasn't expecting to enjoy them. But I did - immensely! I couldn't believe how fast the time seemed to fly, and that all of a sudden I was at the end of the book.

Every book in this series is terrific, and gives you a lot to think about. I can truthfully say that these are the only "zombie" books that I actually recommend to friends and family. I hope there are more, whether as part of the series format, or short stories. I'll be ready to scoop them up as soon as they hit the shelves!
