About this listen

Rising, audiobook number two in the Anderson Special Ops series continues where audiobook one left off with the mission to purge evil from Seattle just getting started. Katherine comes home, but not all is well in the Anderson world as she battles an enemy Joseph can’t put his hands around. While Joseph can’t purge the cancer, he can support this team who attacked the woman he loves. And that’s exactly what he does.

Audiobook two features all of the characters we met in audiobook one with Steve Bregon, a.k.a., Brackish coming in front and center as he does his best to avoid Erin Savage, the waitress he met in audiobook one, who just so happens to be the niece of a big player in the drug world his team is trying to destroy. Though he doesn’t want to fall for the waitress, he finds his thoughts consumed with her at all hours in the day...and most especially in the night. Will their story end in a modern day Romeo and Juliet, two worlds unable to come together, or will he be able to push his feelings aside and do the job he’s there to complete?

This story continues investigating the drug cartel impacting Seattle, while the team, Sleep, Eyes, Brackish, Smoke, and Green continue to grow stronger together. They’ll complete their mission, no matter what it takes, but they might just fall, one man at a time.

New York Times best-selling author Melody Anne embarks on a brand new series packed with alpha males and strong women who are in a battle for more than just love. She’s collaborating with brand new author, John Henley, a military veteran who’s served and worked shoulder to shoulder with some of the military’s most elite and finest warriors, in some of the world’s most austere locations. Together they’ve built a storyline that will whet your appetite for danger, passion, romance, and suspense. You’ll weep and laugh as you go through this journey with a unique set of characters unlike anything Melody has written before. Not only will you see all of the Andersons you’ve come to love, but you’ll also get a new team of special ops men who won’t allow evil to lurk in the shadows. This team is headed by an Anderson favorite, Chad Redington, who’s married to Bree Anderson.

Story was good

I like the story though if seemed that it was just a filler with not a lot of action to start the next series. I enjoyed Rhys’s performance but Brittany sounded like she had never read before which is why the book didn’t get full marks. It was painful getting through those sections. It seemed to start off a little slow in my mind though that could of just been the narrator.
