About this listen
When the Imagine Network commissioned a documentary on mermaids, to be filmed from the cruise ship Atargatis, they expected what they had always received before: an assortment of eyewitness reports that proved nothing, some footage that proved even less, and the kind of ratings that only came from peddling imaginary creatures to the masses.
They didn't expect actual mermaids. They certainly didn't expect those mermaids to have teeth.
This is the story of the Atargatis, lost at sea with all hands. Some have called it a hoax; others have called it a maritime tragedy. Whatever the truth may be, it will only be found below the bathypelagic zone in the Mariana Trench...and the depths are very good at keeping secrets.

Great Premise, Easy Read
This is the kind of horror novel you can take on vacation to read easily and requires little 'brain power' commitment. The ending wrapped up too quickly leaving a lot of interesting possibilities unexplored. Also, when you know ahead of time there are no survivors, who are you supposed to root for?

Found Footage Audiobook
I was intrigued by the idea of a book written in the found footage genre. The story is basic; but the narration is well done, the story is short enough to not overstay it's welcome, and it ACTUALLY PULLED OFF the feel of found footage. Well worth a listen if you in the right kind of mood.

Good, short chiller
A pretty good read. I read this after I read the sequel, but I didn't feel too spoiled. The characters weren't as fleshed out as in Into The Drowning Deep, but I wasn't too bothered as the book was pretty short and seemed to aim for brief, chilling cautionary than feature length thriller.

Addictive and Terrifying
I absolutely devoured this short story (no pun intended)! Brilliantly written, wonderfully atmospheric, haunting, bloody, and it makes me want to dive right into the main book!
The story follows a mockumentary crew as they search for "mermaids," only to stumble into something far deadlier.
I loved everything about this book. The prose, the plot, the characters, and the terrifying nature of the ocean. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you are looking for a short horror story set in the ocean, this is the book for you!

Disappointed with only one person reading the book. The story itself was good.
Other books have sounds of what’s happening to make the story real. There should be more than one person reading the book.
