About this listen
The Pimsleur® Method: the easiest, fastest way to learn a new language. Completely portable, easily downloadable, and lots of fun. You'll be speaking and understanding in no time flat!
Russian Phase 1, Units 26-30 builds on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension and on learning to speak Russian. Reading lessons are included at the end of unit 30 to provide you with an introduction to reading the Russian alphabet. These lessons, which total about one hour, are designed to teach you to sound out words with Russian pronunciation and accent. A reading booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

It is too basic and way too slow. I think it is totally not worth the money.

Best way to get intuitive skills without moving
Another home run by the team at Pimsleur-- It's likely that most people who get this have already had a University course or two in Russian, and are trying to improve their pronunciation. If that is you, this is the course series for you!
I have completed Pimsleur courses in French and Spanish, and was very satisfied with the results after spending 30 minutes a day with only one run-through. Because Russian is significantly different from English (or maybe because I am 65 now), I found it very helpful to repeat lessons 1 to 30 a second time before going on to the 30 lessons of part 2.
The course has PDF files for practicing reading Cyrillic that should accompany the audio. I have not located them yet--but they are less important for me since I have had extensive practice reading Cyrillic.
While Pimsleur is probably not the greatest method to learn to read and write Russian, it will certainly train you to speak and understand Russian language (basic conversational skills), and will give you a great accent in the bargain!
