Amazing, this kept me company on my long nights with my newborn. Tim Curry is an incredible narrator.

I love Sabriel but this made me love it more.

I chose this book as a palette cleanser between a series of grim dark books. At first I thought it was going to be a Harry Potter-like book. But oh no. This becomes a mature dark epic very quickly with an interesting magic system and characters to root for.
Go in with low expectations and you'll find an adventure that reminded me of a dark fairytale. I WILL continue this series. It was also a joy to hear Tim Curry in a healthy state again.

This was the first book I ever read over 20 years ago. And recently added to my Audible library, to listen with my children. It’s a great story and beginning to the series by Garth Nix, I have and will continue to listen/read this story for years to come! #Audible1

Great series

It seemed to glaze over some things a bit quickly but ultimately was a very interesting and seemingly unique approach to a genre that is pretty overdone these days. I read it when I was younger and am glad I came back to listen again now.
