About this listen

Once Upon a Time,
There was a king who passed.
He left behind two sons,
one beloved and one outcast.
The older of the two was set to take the throne,
but before he could, he had to find a queen to call his own.
The younger one was known to be unruly and unhinged.
The chosen queen was warned to keep far away from him.
Beautiful and cunning, in the light is where she stayed.
But late at night, it was the shadowed lands in which she played.
Mistakes were made and secrets forged;
forgetting duty and her sense.
And while the new king had her hand,
her heart belonged to the scarred prince.

Scarred is a dark royal romance. It is not a retelling, and it is not fantasy. It has mature situations and themes which may be considered triggers for some. Listener discretion is advised.

Good story

Lots of unneeded talking but the story was quite good. The steamy parts were well thought out. Good for a dark romance.

some parts were boring

2.5 stars rounded up

I'm not sure how to feel about this. It wasn't good tbh. The first 60% was so BORING, and I struggled to read it. The story started to pick up around 70%, it was interesting; I liked the ending, which is the only reason I'm even considering giving this more stars.

Amazing Narrators

I can’t fully give it a four stars because I wasn’t deeply in love with it but it was so fun to listen to. I got warped into the story every time I press play. These narrators voices were amazing to listen to. Their accents were beautiful.

I loved the royalty aspect of it. All the side characters were important to the story. Our heroine, Sara B, starts off with what you think is just gonna be a naïve virgin girl. But oh my gosh does the tables turn. She is such a strong female lead. Absolutely love her as a character. As for Tristan that man was smoking hot. He brought it’s a literal definition of “I’ll literally burn down the world for you”. My gosh! If you read this book there is not a chance that you won’t fall head over heels in love with these two characters.

The plot and world building in this book was next level. I literally felt like I was living amongst these characters. The little twists and turns throughout were unexpected to me which made me enjoy the book even more.

so amazing

they say the bad buys will burn the world to save you while the good guy will burn you to save the world. Tristan is the embodiment of the man I wish to have. this is such an amazing book and the author knows how to wright a book! the performers bring this book to life!

Loving the bad guy becomes good guy

I’m loving the bad guy becomes the good guy in this set of books. I’ll never be able to look at a villain the same again

It was okay, kinda boring for most of it but it ends well

I was a little confused when the book first started thinking it was a continuation of Hook but soon realized it’s a completely different story and it takes place in the 1910’s.

The characters unfortunately were lacklustre I didn’t really connect with them. I found myself pretty bored waiting for things to happen in the book.

It ends well but it’s not a book I would choose to read again… very meh 😒

good book, nothing fancy

As the very first audiobook I've listened to so far, it wasn't a bad story. I feel like if I read it on paper though, the writing style would have been disappointing for my personal tastes. The male narrator was quite good, though the female narrator was rather lackluster, especially when narrating male voices, and I found myself disinterested when she narrated the male lead.
