About this listen
Scoring on the ice? Piece of cake.
Scoring off it? Well, there’s a reason I’m still a virgin.
I’m not entirely clueless about women, though I do tend to put my foot in my mouth around them far too often. Like I did with Scout, the donut maker I stupidly introduced myself to despite visiting her truck for years. Maybe my teammates have a reason to call me the dumb one, but I’m determined to prove them all wrong—Scout included.
I want to be her friend. I want her to see the real me. What I’m not expecting is to like her so much when we start spending time together…or want to kiss her so badly.
I’m the jock, and she’s the bookworm. On paper, we make no sense together. But maybe I have a scoring chance with her after all.

Great banter!
Scout and Miller are so cute! We got to know Scout and Miller a little bit throughout the rest of the series, so I was excited when they were paired together.
Scout is the owner of a donut truck and an aspiring romance novelist who has writer’s block. She doesn't think very highly of herself because of a cheating ex. These feelings are amplified after Miller doesn't recognize her at a party. Miller, a hockey player who is still a virgin at 24, sets out to right his wrong and build a genuine connection with her. As they embark on their relationship, Scout becomes inspired and overcomes her writer’s block.
Miller was so swoony! He treats Scout so well. He is generous and genuine, there for Scout when she needs him. There was also great banter and humour in this book, which I loved! I’m normally not a fan of the virgin trope, but the way Teagan wrote it was really enjoyable. Miller was eager to please Scout, and even though he was a virgin they didn’t make it a big deal, it just was what it was.
The narration from Tim Paige and Callie Dalton was great! They were the perfect Miller and Scout and did not disappoint!
