Publisher's Summary

To make his biggest score, Han's ready to take even bigger risks.

But even he can't do this job solo.

Han Solo should be basking in his moment of glory. After all, the cocky smuggler and captain of the Millennium Falcon just played a key role in the daring raid that destroyed the Death Star and landed the first serious blow to the Empire in its war against the Rebel Alliance. But after losing the reward his heroics earned him, Han's got nothing to celebrate. Especially since he's deep in debt to the ruthless crime lord Jabba the Hutt. There's a bounty on Han's head - and if he can't cough up the credits, he'll surely pay with his hide. The only thing that can save him is a king's ransom. Or maybe a gangster's fortune?

That's what a mysterious stranger is offering in exchange for Han's less-than-legal help with a riskier-than-usual caper. The payoff will be more than enough for Han to settle up with Jabba - and ensure he never has to haggle with the Hutts again.

All he has to do is infiltrate the ultra-fortified stronghold of a Black Sun crime syndicate underboss and crack the galaxy's most notoriously impregnable safe. It sounds like a job for miracle workers...or madmen. So Han assembles a gallery of rogues who are a little of both - including his indispensable sidekick Chewbacca and the cunning Lando Calrissian. If anyone can dodge, deceive, and defeat heavily armed thugs, killer droids, and Imperial agents alike - and pull off the heist of the century - it's Solo's scoundrels. But will their crime really pay, or will it cost them the ultimate price?

Enjoyable

It was an enjoyable story with Han, Lando and Chewie. Not as good as the new and old Thrawn series from Zahn but a good stand alone book for sure. I enjoy books that move around from planet to planet a little more, whereas this story is centered on one city on one planet. Had a pretty good twist at the end!

Overall quite enjoyable

Good story, great presentation by Mr Thompson

The background deep rumbling sounds are quite annoying and distracting in particular when using headphones

Overall 9 out of 10

Little force but lots of awesome

I loved this book! It embodies what star wars truly is; a galaxy far far away. there is more than just Luke and the the force. This is about Han, after A New Hope but before Empire Strikes Back and the misadventures he finds himself in. Well worth the listen. #Audible1

The Star Wars version of the Italian Job.

Of all 11 Star Wars audiobook, this one is my least favorite. its good, but not great. Much smaller scope than the other Zahn books, as usual he goes into an insane amount of details, but the story is limited. Its an intricate heist with Han and Lando. Marc Thompson is incredible as usual.

GREAT BOOK

at first I was on the fence about if I was going to listen this, I'm certainly glad that I did. Great to hear of some familiar characters and the very ending of the book was a bit mind-blowing. enjoy

Great standalone story

Interesting story, it's as though Ocean's 11 and Star Wars had a crossover of sorts. The plot does get a bit thick in the middle third due to so many characters, can make following so many arcs a bit confusing unless you're paying super close attention, but not enough that it takes away any serious enjoyment of the story overall.

Not my cup of tea.

Love Tim, writing was on par with his style. The plot was not for me and I felt doesn’t fit the STU. Knowing the overall story Han was never coming out of this rich. Wish I had my credit back.
