Publisher's Summary

Best-selling author Julia Quinn flawlessly combines passionate romance with "pitch perfect humor" ( Publishers Weekly).

Miranda Cheever has been blessed with many things, but great beauty is not among them. Still, when she meets Viscount Tuner, she knows she is meant for him. As the years go by, fate is as kind to Miranda as it is harsh on the Viscount. He's skeptical about love with good reason - but he may be falling for Miranda.

Great book.

This is my favourite Julia Quinn book and
my favourite performance. The characters are so real and our reader just brought them to life.

Wonderful characters

I really enjoyed the characters and story line, all
made even more enjoyable with Jenny Sterlin lovely voice. I’m looking forward to the next story but am disappointed to see that the narrator is different.

Lovely listen

Intrigue and romance made this a lovely listen.
I would recommend this book if you are looking for something light but still engaging with characters you want to get to know.

Bad narrator

The narrator made the male character sound way mean and menacing, and she made the female character sound meek and simple minded while she is supposed to be witty and clever. It’s really a pity as it almost sounds like a mis interpretation of the story.

Great story

Clever and whitty dialogue. Well read. Enjoyed it very much! Sped up the playback speed.

The best Julia Quinn book I've listened to

I have listened to a few of Julia Quinn's books but found them a little predictable.
With Jenny Sterlin narrating, I was instantly captivated and sadly blew through this book in 2 days. I didn't want it to end.
Don't believe the other reviews. This narrator MADE this story un-put-downable.

narration ruined it for me

The narrator made the characters sound really mean, stupid and crazy. Hard to get love from all that. disappointed as I have really enjoyed Julia Quinns books.

Any easy read

The book ended well enough but I really wasn’t a fan of the lead male, I understand what they were trying to do with his character but I still didn’t like him. The book was a simple enough read to pass the time.

Great story

I really enjoyed this book, the story was ripe for the picking from the beginning. I loved Turner’s character. It was a real journey through time. Thanks Julia you did well.

Please....

Loved the book. Like everything Julia Quinn writes. But the narrator...... ugh... it was a torture. Why is this the only one Rosalyn Landor didn't read ?! Please bring her back. Would be willing to buy the book again just to hear her version ! This narrator makes everyone sound silly. And the performance.....
