About this listen

Ninth-grader BJ Maki knows there is an evil presence on a killing spree in the hills above his Lake Superior home. And, thanks to strange messages he has been receiving, he knows that the Red Hand Warrior can help protect his family and community. But what he doesn't know until he climbs out of a mysterious cave is that the warrior he is supposed to find lives five hundred years in the past.

An audacious coming of age tale across cultures and time. Has the voice of Vision Quest.
Will Weaver, author of Memory Boy and Power & Light

Saxton's voice brings the characters to life! Well worth the listen!

Robert Saxton brings the characters to life! Told through a teenage perspective, this book teaches us the importance of eyes and ears open to the world around us and reminds us to take care of it. For me, growing up just north of Grand Marais MN, having spent time there and having a deep love of everything this area has to offer, I was intrigued and curious about this book. Even though this is not my particular genre of book, it was well written, with a great progressive storyline complete with humor and plot twists, Well worth it!
