About this listen
The adventures of the Shaman continue!
Daniel Mahan, the legendary Shaman of the Barliona game world, has served his sentence in virtual reality. Eleven months of adventures and battles in exchange for eight years in prison isn't a bad trade-off. And yet Barliona refuses to relinquish its grip on the Shaman so easily, erasing the boundary between his two realities. It turns out that it's not so simple to leave the capsule - the Way must be completed....

Rushed
The book reaches its climax and ends within 20 minutes. The ending felt shoehorned in. Seriously bothered me even though it was technically a happy ending. It just felt incomplete. Bad end to a great series.

if you hated the last book ending you should still listen to this one
a reasonable wrap up to a highly variable series. There were large numbers of things I really liked about this series and a few moments I absolutely hated.
I think most of things I hated all fell into the category of the authors attempts at surprise twists. They all smack of the author thinking of a twist and then forcing the characters and story into contortions to attempt to make it happen.
The twist in this final book wasn't nearly as bad as some of the previous books. Not great, but not bad. They also make enough of an attempt to clean up their last twist that I think this book is worth a listen even if you really hated the last books ending.
