Publisher's Summary
Shango and the Amazing Magical Calming Spell is part of a series of books which aim to deal with a number of childhood issues, such as sleep, anxiety, and fears and phobias, using direct suggestion and repetition. This book deals specifically with anger issues. Temper tantrums, rages, fits, huffs, moods, etc. can be due to many different factors, from perfectly normal upsets to anxiety, depression, lack of sleep, or dietary imbalances (for example, too much sugar). Occasional tantrums are a normal part of childhood and you will know if these are normal or unpredictable and unusually frequent episodes.
If they are persistent they can be exhausting for both parent and child, not to mention innocent bystanders. If the child is willing to cooperate, positive suggestion can help with the frequency and magnitude of outbursts and in time might eliminate episodes altogether.
Shango books are based around the central character of Shango Tidbog. Shango and his friends, using magic spells, aims to help children overcome common issues such as sleeping, anxiety, phobia, anger, and sadness. Tidbogs live in both the real world and the Dream World, where they have the power to help their special friend (the child) and confer spells upon them given by Tidbog wizards, known as Wizbogs.
All the Books have a common thread to improve positivity and happiness within the child. Therefore not only will the books alleviate or even nullify the child's specific issue, but in addition they aim to leave the child with a happier and more positive disposition. The books are not intended as traditional stories for children; the emphasis is on the book being a tool for the parent to help their children overcome the specific childhood issues that concern the child or parent.
