About this listen
There is a plot to kidnap Queen Victoria and only Sherlock Holmes can stop it...or can he?
Investigating a crime seemingly unconnected to the Royal Family, Holmes & Watson uncover a conspiracy to kidnap Queen Victoria and destabilise the British Empire.
With a ticking clock to her next public engagement, Holmes and Watson must discover who is behind the plot and locate her majesty, while Mycroft tries to keep the monarch’s disappearance a secret from the British people.
At first, Holmes believes Moriarty is responsible for the abduction, but when the Napoleon of Crime is proved innocent, Holmes must work with his arch-nemesis to rescue the Queen.
An Audible Original drama starring Nicholas Boulton as Sherlock Holmes and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Dr. John Watson alongside a full cast.

The voice of Treason. Sherlock Homes
Story was excellent. Actors were great. Did not like the going back and forth from past to present in story. I found it quite confusing. I realize the reason for it and actors did wonderful job, but I still found it difficult to keep thread of main story.

Exactly what I was searching for.
Mann and Scott have written a beautiful and mysterious novel, transporting you back to the grim streets and elegant castles of Victorian England. The cast is very well chosen and there is a noticeable attention to detail in the sound effects, dialogue and clarity of the story. I was engaged throughout and it was hard to take breaks - I couldn't wait to reach the next twist or turn in the mystery. You can clearly see the writers' love for Sherlock, and they've done an excellent job of capturing his notorious personality. But whether you've read all the books or are a newcomer to detective stories I'm sure you'll find it an enthralling listen.
Audiobooks have many differences from reading a normal book and I've always thought they should take advantage of those differences by using the presence of sound to draw you into the scene through dialogue and sound effects. Voice of Treason is the type of cinematic creation I was looking for. Because of the lack of narration/visuals I was worried it would be difficult to keep up with what the characters were doing and where they were, but was pleasantly surprised at how they wove those details into the dialogue. It didn't feel unnatural or out of place at all.
This has been one of my favourite audiobooks so far. My only suggestion would be to use more short music clips to aid in the transitions between scenes.

Great story
Really great addition to the canon. This was the first time I had listened to an audio play rather than an audio book so it took me a little while to get used to the different format. The strong performances of Dr Watson and Moriarty I think really held my interest. The writing of Moriarty especially. Holmes of course was the jerk we have grown to know and love or be challenged by. Really interesting take on the story of Watson’s view on their friendship. Well worth the time.

A very worthy production.
This did not disappoint. Kept my attention all the way through. Very faithful to the spirit of Doyle's characters. The performance of Holmes is reminiscent of Basil Rathbone, in the very best sense. Highly recommended.
