About this listen
Meet Dolores Price. She's 13, wise-mouthed but wounded, having bid her childhood goodbye. Beached like a whale in front of her bedroom TV, she spends the next few years nourishing herself with the Mallomars, potato chips, and Pepsi her anxious mother supplies. When she finally rolls into young womanhood at 257 pounds, Dolores is no stronger and life is no kinder. But this time she's determined to rise to the occasion and give herself one more chance before really going belly-up.
In this extraordinary coming-of-age odyssey, Wally Lamb invites us to hitch a wild ride on a journey of love, pain, renewal with the most heartbreakingly comical heroine to come along in years. At once a fragile girl and a hard-edged cynic, so tough to love yet so inimitably lovable, Dolores is as poignantly real as our own imperfections. She's Come Undone includes a promise: you will never forget Dolores Price.

Touching coming of age story
I saw this book recommended on a lot of subreddits, so I decided to listen to it since it was not super long. I thought the story was touching and well written, and the main character felt reel (you alternate between liking her and disliking her). It is pretty realistic and inspiring at the same time.

A must read/ listen
I read this for the first time during the summer when I was 15. Now at 33, I feel differently about Delores and her life- about my life. Beautifully written.
Wally Lamb did an exceptional job looking through a young woman's eyes.
Definitely worth the read.

One of my favourite books.
I love this book. But I don’t understand why Wally Lamb or his publisher chose to edit out so much material. I’m sure they had their reasons, but from a reader point of view it totally ruins the experience. What a shame and the reason for the star reduction.
