Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Remote setting, blizzard, an uncomfortable group of people, murder! Really checks all the boxes for the classic isolation mystery, but with a modern, relatable cast of characters. Super good mystery, SUPER great narrator. Easily the best of the chalet mysteries that have come out recently - including ones by very well-known authors. Highly recommended for all fans of the genre.

I dont go for novels that focus maybe it would ne fun if you love competitive sports

Have you played/watched Until Dawn? Do you like movies/books where characters make idiotic choices for little to no reason and supposedly against their better judgment (a la typical slasher movie)? Then you might really like this book as that is the vibe I have gotten based on the first couple of chapters (minus the monsters - I believe). Maybe it gets better, I don't know. I just could not continue listening after about 7 chapters (1 + hrs). The premise seemed interesting, but it has quickly become unenjoyable. It jumps around quite a bit and feels like details are missing (not in a mystery way) and reasoning for actions are weak or lacking. The "I know I shouldn't, but I am going to do this obviously stupid thing anyways" seems to be the standard reason for the characters. Forcing a situation, regardless of the fact it makes little sense, is not a great way to hook me into a book. I am only willing to invest so much into the suspension of disbelief.
Note, I did not listen long enough so maybe things get better later on as the story progresses.
I usually try give more time to get into a story, but I just couldn't continue. I kept getting too annoyed by the choices characters were making, choices and situations that had slasher movie level of reasoning and scene development (which was bumpy at best). I might try to listen to a bit more to give it another chance, but I have low hopes. This is just not the book for me.
Give it a shot if you like a casual listen that has a pulp fiction quality to it, but I can't personally recommend it.
