About this listen

Shroud of Eternity picks up where Terry Goodkind's New York Times bestseller Death's Mistress left off, promising a thrilling brew of bloodshed, sex, deception, and sorcery.

The formidable sorceress Nicci and her companions - the newly powerless Nathan and the youthful Bannon - set out on another quest after driving ruthless Norukai slavers out of Renda Bay. Their mission: restore Nathan's magic and, for Nicci, save the world.

Guided by the witch-woman Red's mysterious prophecy, the trio makes their way south of Kol Adair towards a wondrous city shrouded behind time, Ildakar. But the grotesque omens on their path to Nathan's salvation - severed Norukai heads on pikes, a genetically modified monster, and a petrified army of half a million - are just a taste of the unimaginable horrors that await within the Shroud of Eternity.

having different actors/readers playing the role would have been great! Thank you very much

reparative

the narrator was fabulous. The author has really let me down. multiple times through this book and the previous he writes as if you are just entering the story. I found it very frustrating. However the plot is super interesting. Terry Goodkind most certainly has a great imagination

Hard to finish

I really had a hard time with this book. I don't know if it's the reader or the story but I lost track of what was happening many times. The characters seem to be lack luster and weak, far different from what they were like in the original series. I plan to finish the last book, but may take a break before starting it.

Story and narrator poor

At the expense of essential character traits he made main characters dumb and dense to move the story along (things that average intelligence characters would be able to connect the dots to). Can't stand the narrator but that hasn't stopped me from listening to the second book. This is probably my second least favourite book from Goodkind, Third Kingdom being number one.
