Publisher's Summary

The PMP exam is the golden standard for project management professionals, but let's face it - it's tough to stay conscious when reading the PMBOK. This audiobook is the antidote. Everything you need to know to pass the PMP exam is included. It is literally one third the size in content compared to some of the more popular tomes out there. All that fluff has been removed and boiled down to the straight facts, plus enough glue to bring it all together so that it makes sense. Those uber-fancy terms and run-on sentences have been removed so you can quickly understand what is being said, instead of having to go over the same sentence three times.

This audiobook has been updated for the PMBOK Guide Sixth Edition, which includes all sorts of greatness over the previous edition including the following changes:

  • An updated PMI's Talent Triangle
  • A focus on schedule instead of time
  • Three new processes have been added
  • One process has been removed
  • Monitor is the new Control
  • An increase in the number of ITTOs
  • A recognition that agile methodologies now rule the planet

Enjoy a fun-but-serious way of learning the PMP material, which includes some great mnemonics on memorizing knowledge areas, processes, and process groups.

Please note that chapters may not have a descriptive name as displayed on your mobile device - this is limitation of the publishing platform. However, each chapter will always start with the title being read aloud, so it should be fairly simple to scan through chapters when you wish to revisit a subject.

It's good, but could be structured a bit better

This guide is really good as long as you already have a decent grasp of the PMBOK 6th edition.
Phil does a decent job of covering all the processes and knowledge areas.

However, one suggestion I can make, is when you're going through the processes, don't just say the name of the process and then proceed to refer to it as "this process" for the next 7 minutes. You list so many processes that it's hard to keep track of which process you're talking about, especially if you're driving in the car and trying to passively learn. Rather, repeat the process that you're talking about. I know it will sound repetitive and increase the length of of the ebook, but I think that is very important from a students perspective.

Otherwise, good ebook. You will benefit most from it if you've already gone through the PMBOK once.

Well-narrated, concise contents

This course is much better than the ones on learning platforms such as Udemy. Had to reduce the speed so I could take some notes. Narration methods ensure your memorization is good. Loved listening to this audio book. Next I will listen to Phil's PMP Quiz book.
