About this listen
When Brendan Leonard moved to the West at age 23, he was a mess. He had a tenuous grip on sobriety, only six months after his last drink had landed him in yet another jail cell. It was the final mistake in a long list that included multiple arrests, wrecked cars, broken bones, fistfights, and ruined relationships.
In Montana, he took his first steps into the Rocky Mountains, unwittingly beginning a decade-long obsession with climbing and a journey that would take him all over the West and Europe. Told with unflinching honesty and vulnerability, Sixty Meters to Anywhere is the memoir of a barstool storyteller who left the bar and found adventure, redemption, and a life that almost never happened.

Cool book. Not what I expected.
An honest and raw account of his life thus far. I expected a book about the outdoors. Instead what I got was much more; a window into the life of a guy who had some struggles early on but discovered there is so much more to life. Good read.

As an adrenaline junkie and someone in recovery I relate!
It starts out as a self loathing story of an addict which can be a tough read for both addicts (as it is relate-able) and non addicts (which can just sound like a pity party) but turns into a story that is worthy of your attention as the author finds his way without his crutch. Buckle up and hold on for the ride!

i couldn't finish
a person who doesn't drink. this book is just not for me. I tried but it's like being at a party and being the only sober person. 2+ hours of drunk stories. I'm out. i get his journey and I'm sure it's a great ending but i give up. also i get being an alcoholic sucks but this is a pitty party. if you can make it to the end i hope it's worth it
