About this listen
Earth is locked in a dangerous arms race with Rigel.
McGill’s efforts at diplomacy are disastrous. Events spin out of control and interstellar warfare consumes the outer provinces of the Empire. Great fleets are gathered, and troops are hurried aboard transports. Legion Varus is launched toward a secret target world.
McGill leads an early strike against Rigel’s defenses, but his efforts are foiled at every turn. Who could be behind these betrayals? Could his own government be plotting his demise?
Find out in Sky World, the thrilling eighteenth book in the Undying Mercenaries series.

One of the best!
I love this series. It’s always a fun read/listen and follows a pretty steady pattern without getting boring.
This book however has taken it to an all new level. I loved the twists and turns in the story arc and the new threads being created for the next book. Overall one of the best in the series. I can’t wait for book 19.

I feel like the series got back on track with this
I felt this series had gotten a bit too for relic and that things weren't moving forward in terms of the larger narrative. I think that this got back on track and started to move some of the characters forward.

Galina my reason for checking out
I always found Galina the most unlikable character in the series, but she takes it to a whole other level in this one. Also to be honest the only emotion I felt in this volume is sorrow, for James McGill's so called close friends and the space navel officers. I should have checked out of the series a book earlier.

One of the weakest in the series
Mark Boyett's performance was great as usual, but I have to say the story on this one didn't make a lot of sense. It was just a bunch of random stuff happening, and no real conclusion to the story... Still it was enjoyable, but not as thrilling as some of the previous books.
