About this listen

In Agatha Christie’s classic, Sleeping Murder, the indomitable Miss Marple turns ghost hunter and uncovers shocking evidence of a perfect crime.

Soon after Gwenda moved into her new home, odd things started to happen. Despite her best efforts to modernize the house, she only succeeded in dredging up its past. Worse, she felt an irrational sense of terror every time she climbed the stairs.

In fear, Gwenda turned to Miss Marple to exorcise her ghosts. Between them, they were to solve a “perfect” crime committed many years before.

Miss Marple in Top Form

This one (Sleeping Murder) which I understand was published posthumously, seems set earlier in the Marple timeline - sometime around the 4th or 5th book? She's still able to garden. It is a lovely story, and I enjoy being able to be completely lost in the English countryside again. The story has enough drama to make it interesting, and the characters are quite fun. The narration is excellent. I'm left with a much better outlook with this being the end of the Marple career (barring short stories) compared to Nemesis.
I have been working my way through all the Marples for the first time. I just finished Nemesis before this one, and while I enjoyed the story in Nemesis itself, there were way too many useless "views" and monologues throughout the story on women - particularly in relation to sexual assault. A satisfying ending here with good narration.
definitely recommend
