On a rainy November day, police detectives Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver von Bodenstein are summoned to a mysterious traffic accident: a woman has fallen from a pedestrian bridge onto a car driving underneath. According to a witness, the woman may have been pushed. The investigation leads Pia and Oliver to a small village, and the home of the victim, Rita Cramer.

ok

It was ok, but the translation wasn't great and it was very, very slow. And nearly all the characters are horrible people. I've given worse books a 3, but I can't do a 4. It was mean. Which I don't mind, but... it was long and mean, and it was tiresome. The bit where one of the protagonists (if I heard it right?) got punched in the face by another cop, it was weirdly satisfying. I don't think it was supposed to be! But also, when the other protagonist finally walks out on his loathsome cheating wife, that was pretty great, too.
The characters were thin and interchangeable, but the mystery was pretty good. A few scenes were genuinely creepy.
I listened to this for the first time few years ago, and listened again tonight at work. I remember why I didn't check out the next one. It was ok, but only ok.
