About this listen
A doubly disgraced dwarven hero. A band of accident-prone adventurers. Giving redemption a second shot may have been a grave mistake....
Still bruised and heartbroken from their last calamitous quest, Gorm Ingerson and his band of washed-up heroes try to make amends for the orcs they accidentally betrayed. But justice is put on hold when an old foe marches to the city gates. Gorm is horrified to discover a liche pitching the frightened city-dwellers on the merits of the undead lifestyle...at the head of a corpse army.
To save the city from high-pressure sales tactics and an inevitable siege, the dwarf warrior and his misfit band hatch a harebrained scheme that lands them at the top of the king’s kill list. With death and dark magic on his heels, Gorm must craft his own pitch to round up the troops and put the undead snake-oil salesman and his army of pushers permanently out of business.
Son of a Liche is the second book in The Dark Profit Saga, a trilogy of humorous epic fantasy novels. If you like rib-tickling shenanigans, second-rate heroes, and imaginative new takes on tired tropes, then you’ll love J. Zachary Pike’s hilarious blend of finance and high fantasy.

Story
The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. Of course, that's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers (or NPCs) to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

Story
What happens when the haggling is done and the shops are closed? When the quest has been given, the steeds saddled, and the adventurers are off to their next encounter? They keep the world running, the food cooked, and the horses shoed, yet what adventurer has ever spared a thought or concern for the Non-Player Characters? In the town of Maplebark, four such NPCs settle in for a night of actively ignoring the adventurers drinking in the tavern when things go quickly and fatally awry.

Story
All the world's a stage...even when you're teleported to a new world. Struggling actress Cara O'Sullivan was walking down the street of Galway one moment, and the next, she was in an ancient tomb in a faraway world. Alone in the dark with her cell phone as her last tenuous connection to home, Cara sings her favorite song. To her astonishment, her song casts a spell of light into the world...and from the depths, something hears her. Challenged by a ghostly knight, a tragic necromancer, and hordes of undead, can a young woman who does not believe in heroes become one herself?

Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Does it again
Once again Zachary writes a great book that’s humorous and adventurous, putting a little spin on things you would normally expect from certain characters. Can’t wait for another

WOW!! so much more than I expected
This is the first new book I have bought since my eyesight got bad enough that reading became to difficult to enjoy the story, about 8 years ago This is an awesome story. Complex and damn funny . one of the best of this type of story I have ever read/ listened to. The characters and world are easy to care about the way they are written. The guy that read this is amazing and I hope he will be available for the next book in this series. Next to the late but great Frank Muller I have enjoyed his reading on this book the best. I cant hardly stand the wait for the next one . (I have already listened to these 2 books 3 times since I purchased them)

A riot
You’re going to have so much fun. The author does an incredible job of building a world you want to peep around the corners of. Speaking of corners, the characters… they don’t have corners because they’re so well rounded. Mixed in with humour and lore so thick you could chew it are moments of legitimate poignancy that catch you off guard. Worth every cent I didn’t pay, because I got it with a credit.

Perfect escapism
OMG what a good listen. I read orconomics because i have a knack for orcs and other creatures. Finished it in record time to find out there is a second book. Ordered that one within a couple of minutes after i finished orconomics. Guess what i will do now? Finding book three, to read or to listen. Just too good. Great characters, great story, hilarious.

wildly awesome
I loved it couldn't put it down. The way each chapter flows and jumps from character to character is seamless and pushes the narrative forward in a fantastic unique way.
