About this listen
Now it has become terrifyingly clear that the Chimes have the potential to bring down all that Richard and Kahlan have worked to protect, and even the power of the Sword of Truth may not be enough to stem the tide of their unleashed magical force. But if the Chimes cannot be stopped, first they will ravage Richard and Kahlan, then all of D'Hara, and then the entire world.

Story
From the internationally best-selling author of the Sword of Truth series comes a new Richard and Kahlan novella. "They are the monsters under the bed when you are little, the shape just caught out of the corner of your eye when you thought you were alone, the shadow of something in a dark corner that surprises you and then isn't there. They stop you dead with a knot of unexpected terror in the pit of your stomach. I think that the star shift has brought us closer to their realm so that they now have the power to step into our world and hurt us."

Very good.
Above average for this series, better than some, worse than others.
The book isn't as good as some either but as the series wears on it slides.

Well Done
Buck Schirner took an above average story and read it so well that my overall opinion has risen. I have read all the books multiple times and while I enjoyed this one it was never at the top, now with his performance it has made it's way into my enjoy it again and again list. thank you Buck.

Good story but lots of filler.
This book in the series is an interesting one to me. The overall storyline is really good but there is a lot of the book focused to develop supporting characters that could have likely been done with half the detail and still maintained the overall story strongly. If you enjoy the series stick with this one and it is worth the listen/read.

The voice actor farted on chapter 36
Look it up I'm serious, go to the 12h 18minutes and 27 seconds mark (11h58:01 remaining). You can hear him squeak a fart out. Nearly died laughing, I thought it was one of my dogs. I had to rewind it 30 times before it stopped being funny. My girlfriend however only thought it was funny for 1 or 2 of my 30 rewinds. Anyways, book 5 of this series is "meh" but the voice actor gave it his all (literally).
