Brush Up and Develop Your Listening Skills!

After having studied Spanish at the beginner level for a year or so in high school, I wasn’t sure how to further my language abilities outside of an academic setting. Although I had attempted to stay engaged with the language and culture, I found it difficult to find resources that would prove simple enough to keep me motivated and advanced enough to challenge me. The stories included in this book have proven ideal for this purpose. Incorporating simple vocabulary into an interesting context, the stories were both easy and interesting to follow. The pace and enunciation of the narration was likewise to my liking-- clear and easy on the ear, but not overly patronizing. Building up my vocabulary and expanding my linguistic comfort level in a way that was neither intimidating or daunting, this book has served as a tool for building up my confidence in engaging with Spanish media and communicating with Native-speakers. Overall, the audiobook and pdf version of the stories provide a handy package for anyone at the higher-beginner level and above desiring supplementary practice for listening and reading in Spanish.
