About this listen
On the technological, decadent world of Proton, someone was trying to destroy Stile, serf and master Gamesman. His only escape lay in Phaze, a world totally ruled by magic. Soon he learned that his alternate self had already been murdered, and that he was next. On Proton, his fate depended on winning the great Games. On Phaze, he must master magic to survive. And if he used any magic at all, his friends were determined to kill him at once!

wonderfully written and artfully read
I loved this story, a true artist wrote an amazing beginning, and it was artfully read, I was captivated throughout.

Nostalgic Purchase - Not as Good as Remembered
I had read this series as a teenager many, many years ago and I really enjoyed it. I purchased all three books recently for old time's sake and in hindsight, probably shouldn't have done so. The story is good, it contains elements of science fiction, fantasy, and romance. It's also pretty funny. I loved it when I was a teen but now, the book didn't really hold up well - the plot was predictable and bored me somewhat. I still enjoyed listening to the book but some parts were annoying and I fast-forwarded through them. The performance by Traber Burns was great as usual and took nothing away from the experience.
For those who've read this before, my advice would be to keep it to your past and not buy it again. For first-timers, this is classic Piers Anthony but aimed at a younger audience. Happy listening.
